Its been a long time since I last posted! I completely forgot about my promise to keep up with blogging. Maybe this time round i'll be able to keep it up.
Currently we're learning about the muscloskeletal system and locomotion. Its really interesting and they're loads of amazing people out there who come in to share there diseases with us. I know all of us student appreciate being able to learn from real patients, real people.
The first time I was doing a consultation with a patient, I was very very nervous! It was one of the most nerve racking experience to know that these people will come in to see us, and share the most intimate things. Things that they wouldn't talk about to their parents, their partners, their children. They will more often than not, take what you say and trust it without question. They will let you see them without clothes, and barely think twice. Its a massive responsibility that hit me during that first consultation. Nether-the-less it all went okay and I'm now quite practiced in talking to patients.
People think that its so easy to talk to patients, whereas in real life there is so much to know about what to say, when to say it and never to ever forget the GOLDEN MINUTE!
Anyway, If I don't head off to bed now, i'll never get up for my anatomy class tomorrow. One thing to note, is that working with cadavers is amazing! Once you get over the idea of it, it is the best learning tool to get your head around anatomy!
